AKOL GROUP OF COMPANIES DONATES TO UNIOSUN TEACHING HOSPITAL, OSOGBO

As part of her corporate social responsibilities to the public, AKOL Group of Companies has donated a sum of One Million Naira only to suppourt the building of a standard Security post within the hospital.


The Chairman of AKOL Group of Companies Pharm. Siji Olamiju revealed that the recent assaults on some members of staff of the hospital by some hoodlums prompted the gesture. 


A sum of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira and One Hundred Thousand Naira was also donated to the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD) and the Security Department of the hospital respectively. This is to support the ARD car wash project and to motivate the staff of Security Unit. In addition to the cash donations, the company also made a donation of 500 vials of top class antibiotics to the indigent patients of the hospital.


In his response, the Chief Medical Director, Professor Peter Babatunde Olaitan appreciated the company for coming to the aid of the hospital. He condemned the recent attack by the hoodlums and reiterated the determination of the Management to ensure that the hospital environment is safe for all.


He then appealed to philanthropists and public spirited individuals to assist the hospital with facilities that can boost the effectiveness of the hospital like Ambulances, Buildings and Equipments as the government alone cannot provide all that is needed by any institution.


Other dignitaries present at the cheque presentation were the Management Committee of the hospital, some staff of AKOL Group of Companies, the ARD President, UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital, Dr. Segun Ilori and the Vice President of the Association, Dr. Ojo John.
