Insecurity in Oyo State, the way forward | adekkatv

Their is no doubt that, the Government of the day in Oyo State led by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde is doing well, but their is need to do more when it comes to security of the State.

The achievements ranges from the prompt payment of Salaries (which I personally witness during my internship with LAUTECH TEACHING HOSPITAL in Oyo State), bringing Government nearer to the masses in terms of Good and accessible roads to mention few, the Apake Road in Ogbomoso (Completed), Moniya to Iseyin Road (completed), dualization of Saki township Road (Completed), Construction of Fresh Road linking Iseyin to Ogbomoso (Ongoing) among others.

The full ownership of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso is another great achievement by His Excellency, Kudos to his counterpart from Osun (Baba Jeje) for not playing politics with the future leaders, the Alumni who suffered from the past administration will not pray for such again, LAUTECH who use to go off and on is now a thing of the past, people of LAUTECH TEACHING HOSPITAL will never forget the feet of this Messiah, ranging from the acceptance of already hopeless workers who are sacked by the past administration, to the welfare package which the Governor himself visited the Teaching Hospital in July/August of 2020, gave room for the head of unions to express their mind and to the Glory of God, he fulfilled the promises such as reinstatement of sacked workers, promotions, minimum wages, constituted board for the Teaching Hospital among others, the area yet to be addressed is the recommendation that was submitted to the Governor on the day of his visit through Hon. Abiodun Oluwaseun (Now, the S.A on Project Delivery) which was written by me on the needs to have more staff in the Teaching Hospital especially now that, the accreditation of some departments like Medical Laboratory Science Department, Medicine will soon be carried out and this is the sole Teaching Hospital the University is having with great number of Students.

Another feet of His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde is on the Light up Oyo State being enjoyed by people of the State, in all the 5 zones of the State which are; Ibarapa, Ibadan, Oke Ogun, Oyo and Ogbomoso Zone.

Now to the business of the day which is the Security architecture of Oyo State, one thing I like about the listening Governor is that, he tried in making sure their is continuity of projects not delivered by the immediate past administration, which is not common among the politicians in Nigeria but I don't see his Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde as a politician but rather, as an administrator and a philanthropist, the insecurity of the State began with the happenings in Ibarapa zone of Oyo State with Kidnapping of people around the 7 towns of Ibarapa in which, a father of my friend was a victim to the death of Alh. Fatai Oko Oloyun along Igboora-Eruwa Road followed by the death of Hon. Aborode among others, allegedly, a tribe was fingered as the brain behind the atrocities which led Hon. Sunday (popularly known as Sunday Igboho) to come to the rescue of the masses, the rest now is history.

What led to this write up is another insecurity activities going on in another zone of the State which is Ibadan, from Ibarapa now to Ibadan, who knows which zone is next if care is not taken (we don't Pray for such), Ibadan which is the State Capital of Oyo State and the seat of the then Western Region is now going through a lot of insecurities, a place where one should see as the safest is now something else, From Idi- Ape robbery incident, to Oremeji superiority fight, to Agugu within a week, as the Governor belief in continuity, their is need to go back to the drawing board and look inward on how the immediate past administration in Oyo State tackled insecurity without playing politics with it, their is need for immediate measure before it goes out of hand.

Long live Oyo State!

Long live Nigeria!!

The next article coming up is on Ibarapa, the Margination, loss and the gain...
