People of Isale-Osun and the State of Osun in general especially those that are well placed in the society have been charged to constitute themselves as pillars of support by rendering all the necessary assistance that can complement the good gesture of the government to bring an all round development to the state and make Osun health sector number one in Nigeria.

The charge was jointly given on behalf of the State government by the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Rafiu Isamotu and Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Health, Dr. Olasiji Olamiju at the foundation laying ceremony of a medical laboratory facilitated by an illustrious son of Osogbo, Asiwaju Hammed Omidiran for the Primary Health Centre, Isale Agbara, Osogbo.

According to Dr. Isamotu, it is the global trend that government cannot do everything for its people but will rather need the cooperation and help of the people in the work of development.

Speaking further, the Commissioner praised the efforts of the wife of the Governor, Mrs Kafayat Oyetola for her relentless campaign against open defection and enjoin citizens of the state with the wherewithal to build modern public toilets that can help to eradicate the menace across the state to do without any hinderance.

He appealed to them to always follow the footsteps of Alhaji Omidiran by contacting the government whenever they want to do any work of development.

He then thanked the people for their love and unalloyed support to the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and prayed that God will grant the Governor the grace to succeed in his bid to reposition the state health sector to an enviable position.

In his own remark, the Special Adviser on Public Health, Dr. Olamiju said the issue of health and governance is the responsibility of all and sundry adding that anybody that has the intention of doing good for the people must not wait until he possesses the whole world.

He advised the people of Isale-Osun and the state in general to always strive to complement government's effort and bring to fruition its objective of ensuring that the people live a healthy life.

Dr. Olamiju assured them that all other sectors yet to be touched by the government will soon be attended to urging them to exercise patience.

He however advised people at the event to make their healthcare the first priority through awareness creation on the need to undergo regular checkups.

He later commended Alhaji Omidiran for his laudable initiative explaining that Governor Oyetola's wish for the people of the state is to live a healthy and comfortable life.

He then assured the community of the Governor's readiness to make available all the necessary equipments and materials needed to make the laboratory function effectively as soon as it is completed and urged them to increase their patronage and thorough monitoring of the facility so that government's huge investment in the health sector will be meaningful.

Commenting on the importance of the laboratory when completed, the Secretary Medical Officer of Health, Osogbo local government, Dr. Onigbinde Oluwatoyin said it will help greatly in easy diagnosis of ailments affecting patients and as well aid doctors' prescription in the treatment of such.

Earlier, the facilitator of the project, Alhaji Omidiran, who was represented by the Chairman of Isale-Osun community, Alhaji Suleiman Eniafelamo had said the idea was born out of his philanthropic gesture and the desire to ensure that Osogbo and the State do not lag behind talking about development and good healthy living.

Also present at the ceremony were, Director Medical Laboratory Services, State Primary Healthcare Development Board (SPHCDB), Mrs Gbonjubola Akinola; Pa Akintade Bola; medical officials, community people as well as Iyaloja and market women of Better life Ireakari Anaye market.
