BREAKING: MOON SIGHTED AT SAUDI ARABIA AS RAMADAN ENDS TODAY
The date of Eid al-Fitr 2019 has been confirmed after a sighting of the first crescent of the new moon.
The moon was seen at Mecca in Saudia Arabia on Monday, June 3, which is the 29th day of the holy month of Ramadan.
This means Ramadan has come to an end tonight.
Eid al-Fitr 2019 celebrations will take place on Tuesday, June 4.
The date had been expected to be either Tuesday or Wednesday, subject to an official observation of the moon.
