TRUCK INJURES PEOPLE, CRUSHES WOMAN DEAD IN IBADAN

A vehicle carrying a container to a not known destination lost control at Molete, in a densely populated area in Ibadan metropolis yesterday killing a woman and injuring many other people. The accident occurred just a week following a woman who took her child to school was crushed to death by another vehicle.
A person who saw the event told the reporters that, the truck carrying a container lost control and ran into the crowd killing the woman immediatly. It was further learnt that, the accident occurred around 8:02 a.m under the Molete flyover. Further information gathered had it that, the incident was due to the fact that, the truck had a faulty brake system which made it difficult for the driver to control the truck. The trailer reportedly crushed four tricycles and three other buses.
The remains of the unfortunate woman were reported to have been deposited at a morgue by men of the Nigerian Police, Oyo State command and Oyo State Road Traffic Management Agency(OYTMA). In his own Reaction to the accident, SP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the Police Public Relations Officer, said investigation had begun into the accident.
The Federal Road Safety Corps in the State affirmed the accident saying the truck was coming from Felele area of the city before its brake failed. The Corps PRO, Mr Oluwaseun Onijala said that, three of the injured who were taken to the hospital have been discharged.
