PROTESTS IN SUDAN: POLICE REACTED WITH FIRE TEAR GAS AS VIOLENCE CONTINUES
The Police in Sudan has fired tear gas at the people who are protesting as part of violent anti-government protests that have gone viral across the country. Hundreds of protesters blocked a road close to a football stadium in Khartoum, the capital,yesterday before clashing with riot police. Opposition reported that 22 protesters have been killed so far since Wednesday, but officials claimed that the figure is not up to that number.
The demonstrations came up following the price increase in bread and fuel, which the announcement was made. In the past year, the amount of some goods has more than twice the previous prices, as inflation has risen to closely 70%, the Sudanese pound value has decreases immensely and insufficient of goods have been reported in cities which includes the capital Khartoum. A sect of doctors have also announced that its members will go on strike from today to put pressure on Omar al-Bashir, the Sudanese President.
