FOUR LIVES LOST AS TRICYCLE ENTERED INTO HOLE WHILE AVOIDING TRAILER IN DELTA




Four passengers in a Keke Napep, which is also known as tricycle, yesterday lost their lives in Nnebisi Road, Asaba, Delta State while trying not to have head-on clash with a trailer burdened by heavy loaded bags of cement.

It was reported that the trailer change direction and left its way into the tricycle’s direction on the Nnebisi Road.

Iyobosasere Jane,an eyewitness, reported that the tricycle somersaulted  repeatedly as the driver rammed on stones before entering into the extending far down ongoing drainage hole.

The driver, nevertheless, remain alive but his four passengers were dead.

The eyewitness has been qouted reported, “The tricycle turned upside down with the passengers trapped inside."

“They were rushed to the hospital but were confirmed dead on arrival by the doctor on duty.”

The accident, which allured other tricycle operators to the location of the tragedy, witnessed many people crying in a profuse manner.

Chief James Augoye,the state Commissioner for Works who communicated with the reporters in Asaba, portrayed the occurrence as very unlucky, and also assured that,the state government is working to provide satisfactory drainage system for the roads across the state.

The commissioner has being quoted, “It’s unfortunate that the tricycle operator crashed into the ongoing project, the state government is committed to providing drainage system across the state.”
