COURT PROHIBITS KOGI GOVERNMENT FROM SUSPENDING, INVESTIGATING CHIEF JUDGE, CHIEF REGISTRAR




The Koton-Karfe Division of the High Court,Kogi State has withstrained the state’s House of Assembly and Kogi State Government from taking actions that will not allow the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Nasiru Ajanah and his Chief Registrar, Yahaya Adamu to discharge their duties as the Chief Judge of the State and the Chief Registrar respectively.

The command was given to the Chief Judge and the Chief Registrar when they made the request from the court on the maneuver of pressure from an alleged set of intended actions by the Assembly to examine them and the state judiciary in response to a petition by the Secretary to the State Government, Folashade Arike Ayoade,to the house pointing that there is a chaos between the Judiciary arms of the state and the Executive.

Folasade Arike Ayoade is presently standing trial before High Court 1, the Chief Judge's court, on charges brought against her by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC).
