ASUP STRIKE TO START ON WEDNESDAY





The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) has pronounced its decision to go on a strike without limit starting from Wednesday,December 12.

This was announced by the National Treasurer of ASUP, Suleiman Usman,while giving a short and concise summary to the reporters, immediately following the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting yesterday in Kaduna State.

Suleiman Usman expressed that the decision was the outcome of the meeting, which took longer time at the Kaduna Polytechnic.

He expressed that the designed job action,was taken due to the Federal Government negligence to put into practice all the agreements it made with the union two years ago.

He further stressed that, in spite of the 21-day deadline charged by ASUP to the Federal government,to consider some of the issues it had lifted over time, the Federal Government has been carefree in considering the demands for betterment in funding of polytechnic education in Nigeria.

Suleiman Usman emphasized that ASUP had given government enough time which is now overdue to implement all agreements, noting that at this present moment,their is no choice than to go on an indefinite strike.

ASUP to this end, have giving directives to all its members across the country, to carry on an indefinite strike beginning from 12am on Wednesday next week.
