WORLD'S TALLEST STATUE UNVEILED BY MODI

Prime Minister Narendra Modi yesterday unveiled the Statue of Unity,at 182 metres of the statue,made it the tallest in the world, it serve as a tribute to freedom icon Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his 143rd birth anniversary.

Indian Air Force planes were used to showered flowers on the statue in a grand inaugural event on the banks of the Narmada river in Gujarat as PM Modi dedicated it to the nation as a whole.

The Sardar Patel statue, doubled the Statue of Liberty, was built at a cost of Rs. 2,989 crore and the location is in Gujarat, 3.2 km downstream of the Narmada dam.

The locals are ready to protests who demand compensation for the land used for the enormous figure, in response to this,thousands of police personnel were deployed ahead of the inauguration which was held yesterday.
