UPDATE ON ASUU STRIKE AS FG IS SET FOR A MEETING
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said that,they are available to start negotiations with the Federal Government to put an end to the strike happening presently.
Asuu National Chairman, Prof.Ogunyemi said that meeting with the Federal Government representative has been scheduled for today,1 p.m because of the call from the Minister of Education, Malam Adamu Adamu.
According to Prof.Ogunyemi, the N200 billion which was released by the Federal Government in September 2018,was not the problem but that the N200 billion suppose to have been released in October 2017,which was part of the agreement made in 2013.
He further emphasize that the ‘No work no pay’ punishment by the Federal government will not make any difference from the lecturers ongoing strike as the industrial action was back up legally in the International treaty and the Country Labour law.
