TUMBLR WITHDRAWN FROM APPLE APP STORE OVER IMAGE ABUSE

Tumblr has been withdrawn from Apple's app store because it allow some client to post pictures of child sexual abuse.

The social network's app was withdrawn on November 16, but the reason why it was removed was just known to the world.

In the statement made available, it was said that the filters failed to recognize the forbidden images.

It was also said that getting the app re-listed is important but the date when it will be available is yet to be decided.

Tumblr gave more reasons why it was taken off Apple's store when approached claiming that indecency of images of children were the cause.

In the statement made available, it was added that all pictures uploaded to Tumblr goes through an investigation of database of "known child sexual abuse material", and that any one that matches to the database are detected and deleted,which will never appear on its platform.

In this scenario, it was reported that, the pictures being uploaded were not in the industry database so its device did not catch them. However, it was said that, the illegal content was detected during a regular check up.
