NIGERIA ARMY ANNOUNCED THE DEATH OF BOKO HARAM'S HEAD OF MEDIA




On Saturday evening,it was reported by the Nigerian Army (NA), that the leader of a key faction of Boko Haram was killed.The army made the announcement through its social media handles the death of a media leader of Islamic State as well in West Africa Province, ISWAP.

The army emphasized in its reports that the death was recorded when carrying out the joint operation between the army and the airforce as part of its operations on counter-terrorism.

“Reports made available reveal that one Sale Ahmad Sale aka Baban Hassan,the leader of Al-Barnawi Media group, a faction of Boko Haram was killed by a joint operation which was conducted by the Nigerian Army and Nigerian Airforce,” the statement stated.

It did not disclose where the attack took place or when it occurred but the army emphasized that it will continue in targeting the attacks against the terrorists most importantly against the key members of Boko Haram.

The statement further added that;

“The killing of the media leader is indicative of efforts by the Nigerian Army to eliminate key members of the sect. It is worthy to note that the sect is directly affiliated to the Islamic State and has carried out several attacks against own troops and innocent civilians in the past.

"Therefore, the death of the group’s media leader shows that the leadership is being targeted successfully and soon other key members would be apprehended or neutralised, thus decimating the group and its activities,”.
