OYO STATE COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND TECHNOLOGY, IGBOORA, BECOME A POLYTECHNIC
The National Board for Technical Education has approved the upgrading of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora to a polytechnic.
This was contained in a statement made by the Provost of the institution through the Public Relations Officer to Adekkatv,Mrs Opeyemi Olawore, it was announced that it now have NBTE approval, to run six additional programmes in addition to the existing ones.NBTE was praised for the approval.
“Following the approval, the institution can now run National Diploma programmes in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, Horticultural Technology as well as Office Technology and Management,” She said.
Prof.Adewale revealed that the new status would further bring infrastructural and human capital development to the college through accesses to TETFund for staff training and infrastructural facilities.
It should be recalled that the bill for the amendment of the law establishing the college was amended and assented to by the Executive Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi in November 2014.
